About

The Sorin Seminar for Faculty began in 2016 as a way for faculty at Notre Dame to learn more about the Congregation of Holy Cross as well as the Catholic intellectual tradition and Catholic social tradition. The seminar consists of two-and-a-half days of meeting with new colleagues and gaining an in-depth understanding of the tradition that formed the University of Notre Dame.
Features of the seminar have included conversations with Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., and Provost John T. McGreevy on Catholic higher education, a guided tour of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Log Chapel and Holy Cross community cemetery, and lively conversation with peers about their experiences at Notre Dame.

The seminar is hosted by Fr. Greg P. Haake, C.S.C., Vice President for Mission Engagement and Church Affairs. Fr. Greg invites faculty members who have been recommended by either their peers or their dean to participate in the seminar.
